Craigvinean Hospital Drivers is a group of volunteers who take patients to medical appointments if they are unable to use public transport or the services of a friend or family member. See below flowchart to assess eligibility.
The patient pays only travel expenses (please see below for the current costs) and this can be claimed back by those in receipt of certain benefits. If you find you need transport, please get in touch with the surgery. The receptionist will contact the service and a driver will call you back to make the arrangements. The service is fully insured. Volunteer drivers are always welcome to join the team. If you would like to help, please contact faithanstey@gmail.com.
Current rates as of August 2025:
Standard charges for hospital transport
All charges relate to return journey from and to Dunkeld & Birnam, unless otherwise indicated.
This is regardless of where the driver themselves actually starts from.
